Centrify Certifies DirectControl Suite for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4

Certified Solution to Offer Active Directory and Group Policy for Linux Identities and Configurations

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Centrify Corporation today announced Red Hat Ready certification of DirectControl(TM) which integrates Red Hat(R) Enterprise Linux 4 environments into Microsoft's Active Directory. As a member of the Red Hat Ready Partner program, Centrify has added support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 to its existing product line, which already includes support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1 and 3 as well as Fedora Core 3. DirectControl is an identity, access and Group Policy management solution that comprehensively extends the capabilities of Microsoft(R) Active Directory(R) for mixed Microsoft Windows(R), UNIX(R) and Linux(R) environments and Java(TM) and web-based applications.

"Our Red Hat Ready certification and our Windows Server 2003 Certification demonstrate our commitment to customers that our Windows-Linux interoperability solution meets the high standards of both Microsoft and Red Hat," said David McNeely, Director of Product Management, Centrify Corporation. "With Red Hat Ready certification, Centrify helps assure customers of the reliability of the DirectControl suite running on Red Hat servers and workstations. Enterprises can confidently leverage Active Directory and Group Policy for identity and configuration management as they deploy the latest version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux."

Active Directory Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Customers can now map multiple Linux User IDs (UIDs) to a single Active Directory account to provide users with a single sign-on experience and to reliably control a user's access to all systems and applications. DirectControl helps address top security concerns such as enforcing consistent password policies across the enterprise and eliminating the security risk of orphan accounts. An additional benefit is that DirectControl performs the centralized auditing and reporting required to show compliance with regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA. By consolidating all user account management in Microsoft Active Directory, an organization is able to extend Active Directory's benefits to non-Windows platforms without increasing administrative overhead.

Microsoft Group Policy(TM) Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux

DirectControl delivers significant cost savings by enabling administrators to leverage Microsoft Group Policy to manage mixed Windows, Linux/Unix and Java/J2EE environments. Any configuration file common to groups of Linux systems or web applications, can be centrally defined and automatically updated by the DirectControl agent on the target system. Time-consuming administrative tasks that would otherwise have to be implemented for individual systems such as login banners, firewall settings, start menu specifications, and application parameters can now be centrally managed and enforced across Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems from Active Directory's Group Policy services.

Price and Availability

Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 is included in DirectControl. Centrify DirectControl supports the following versions of Red Hat: Enterprise Linux 2.1, 3, 4; Red Hat Linux 7.2, 7.3, 8, 9; and Fedora Core 3. DirectControl is licensed beginning at $50 per workstation and $300 per server.
