Red Hat Tickles Open Source SOA

Red Hat Will Realease JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform 4.3 and JBoss Operations Network 2.1 At the End of the Month

By the end of the month Red Hat will release JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform 4.3 and JBoss Operations Network 2.1, which are supposed give it more skin in the enterprise SOA game.

The company said the new revs feature cooperative support and allow for remote monitoring and management of open source SOA deployments.

Red Hat’s SOA strategy is centered on driving down cost and complexity.

The lightweight JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform, a collection of JBoss ESB, JBoss JBPM and JBoss Rules, now includes new ESB features like new gateway listeners, a declarative security model, improved web services integration ands additional scripting languages such as JRuby and Jython as well as new rules features like stateful rules services, decision tables and rule agent support.

It’s a SOA integration platform and orchestrates services into processes.

JBoss Operations Network 2.1 enhances the platform’s central management and is supposed to reduce the cost of ongoing operations of enterprise SOA deployments.

My mouth is watering already, though you do have to wonder at anything that claims to be a "lightweight Enterprise SOA Platform" ;-)
