Toshiba mit Dampfturbinengeneratoren für eines der weltgrößten Geothermiekraftwerksprojekte beauftragt

Die Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO:6502) hat heute bekannt gegeben, einen Großauftrag von einem der weltweit größten Geothermiekraftwerke erhalten zu haben: Das Geothermiekraftwerkprojekt Sarulla, das derzeit in Tapanali Utara auf Nordsumatra in Indonesien entsteht, hat die Toshiba Corporation mit der Lieferung von drei 60-Megawatt Dampfturbinegeneratoren beauftragt.

Toshiba, einer der weltweit führenden Hersteller und Ausrüster für Geothermiekraftwerke hat diesen Auftrag von dem Unternehmen Sarulla Operations Ltd. (SOL) erhalten, einem Unternehmenskonsortium aus vier Unternehmen: Itochu Corporation und Kyushu Electric Power Co. Inc. aus Japan, PT Medco Power Indonesia aus Indonesien und ORMAT International, Inc. aus den USA. Für die Detailplanung und Kontrolle, das Beschaffungswesen sowie die Ausführung der Bau- und Montagearbeiten ist Hyundai Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. (HDEC) zuständig. Toshiba wird die Dampfturbinengeneratoren im Juli 2015 liefern und das Kraftwerk soll im November 2016 in Betrieb genommen werden. Es wird für etwa ein Prozent der gesamten Energieerzeugung Indonesiens aufkommen.

Indonesien verfügt über die zweitgrößten Geothermieressourcen der Welt und könnte eine Kapazität in Höhe von 28.000 Megawatt erzeugen. Derzeit liegt die installierte Kapazität jedoch nur bei 1300 Megawatt*1. Wachstumsbedingt steigt die Nachfrage und es kommt zu Lieferengpässen. Die indonesische Regierung bewirbt daher Geothermalenergie als Möglichkeit, die Erzeugungskapazität zu steigern und die Abhängigkeit von Ölressoucen zu senken. Die Ölnachfrage hat 2004 die lokale Erzeugungskapazität überschritten. Die Regierung plant bis 2025 die Umsetzung von IPP-Projekten mit einer Kapazität von 12.000 Megawatt*2. Dieses Vorhaben wird durch das Yen-Darlehen von der japanischen Regierung unterstützt.

Die Toshiba Corporation, einer der weltweit führenden Hersteller und Ausrüster für Wärmekraftwerke, verfügt über erstklassige Kompetenzen in Bezug auf Ausrüstung für nukleare und thermische Kraftwerke sowie Anlagen, die erneuerbare Energien nutzen. Das Unternehmen stieg 1966 in die Geothermiebranche ein, als es dem Kraftwerk in Matsukawa, dem ersten Geothermiekraftwerk Japans, einen Dampfturbinengenerator lieferte. In der Folgezeit expandierte das Unternehmen nach Nordamerika, Südostasien und Island. Heutzutage ist Toshiba im Hinblick auf die Herstellung von Dampfturbinengeneratoren weltweit führend, verfügt über einen Marktanteil in Höhe von 23 Prozent*3 und hat 52 Einheiten mit einer installierten Kapazität von 2800 Megawatt ausgeliefert. In den vergangenen Jahren haben die technischen Möglichkeiten, die Toshiba bietet, dazu geführt, dass in Neuseeland, Kenia und der Türkei verstärkt geothermische Dampfturbinengeneratoren bestellt wurden.

Toshiba ist mit dem indonesischen Markt sehr vertraut, da es in diesem als führender Hersteller von Ausrüstungsgegenständen für Wärmekraftwerke tätig ist. Das Unternehmen hat bislang 12 Dampfturbinengeneratoren mit einer Gesamtleistung von 4200 Megawatt für vier thermische Kraftwerke ausgeliefert, darunter an das thermische Kohlekraftwerk Tanjung Jati B sowie 26 hydroelektrische Turbinengeneratoren mit einer Gesamtleistung von 1500 Megawatt für 11 hydroelektrische Kraftwerke und das Projekt Patuha Unit 1 beliefert, ein 55-Megawatt-Geothermiekraftwerk, das derzeit in West-Java gebaut wird.

Der weltweite Markt für geothermische Kraftwerke wächst weiterhin schnell und bietet weltweit neue Möglichkeiten. Es wird erwartet, das der Markt für geothermische Energie bis Ende 2013 eine geothermische Leistung in Höhe von 12.000 Megawatt*1 erreicht haben wird. Über großes Potenzial in diesem Bereich verfügen unter anderem die USA, Indonesien, Japan, die Philippinen, Mexiko, Island, Neuseeland und Italien. Toshiba wird sich weiterhin an Projekten beteiligen, die umweltfreundliche, kohlendioxidarme erneuerbare Energien fördern, wie beispielsweise Geothermalenergie.
